The Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD) hosts an annual conference that brings together First Ladies from various African countries. The platform fosters experience exchange and showcases commitment to sustainable development, women’s and children’s rights, youth development, and gender diversity. Their expertise and experience shape policies and projects aimed at improving the quality of life, with a particular focus on vulnerable populations.

For Vodacom Congo, this opportunity strengthens its commitment to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and aligns with the Vodacom Group’s pan-African efforts toward inclusion for all. Vodacom Congo contributes to Africa’s digital transformation through the “Africa. Connected” program, providing connectivity and access to digital services.

“We have the ambition to expand coverage and modernize networks in the DRC as part of our pan-African Africa Connected program,” stated Khalil-Al-Americani, CEO of Vodacom Congo. “Our aim is to support the inclusion of rural communities and SMEs while strengthening the digital and financial skills of women and young people. By doing so, we ensure that no one is left behind” he further added.

Vodacom Congo, as an official sponsor, commits to addressing connectivity challenges, supporting alliances for affordability, and positive synergies across sectors. The goal is to improve the living conditions of African children, young people, and women.

“We are proud to support OAFLAD. Each stakeholder at this high-level conference brings a unique perspective. Together, we can accelerate Africa’s digital literacy program, which is the foundation of sustainable development,” said Pamela ILUNGA, Deputy CEO of Vodacom Congo.

The upcoming OAFLAD edition will witness the launch of a unifying campaign for achieving gender equality in Africa. The campaign mobilizes governments, civil society, and citizens to promote gender equality as a foundation for sustainable development in Africa. It will focus on education, health, empowering women and youth, and combating violence against women and girls.

The meeting strengthens African cooperation, promotes policies across key areas. Highlights the importance of empowering women and youth through essential services access.
